PRACTICE POLICIES

APPOINTMENTS AND CANCELLATIONS

Please remember to cancel or reschedule 48 hours in advance. You will be responsible for the entire fee if cancellation is less than 48 hours.

Cancellations and re-scheduled session will be subject to a full charge if NOT RECEIVED AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time.

COMMUNICATION  ACCESSIBILITY

If you need to contact me between sessions, please leave a secure message through your client portal. I am often not immediately available; however, I will attempt to return your message within 24 hours.

 

SOCIAL MEDIA AND TELECOMMUNICATION

To maintain appropriate boundaries and protect your privacy, I do not accept friend or follow requests to my personal social media accounts from clients—current or former. However, you are welcome to follow and interact with my professional business accounts. These platforms are intended for sharing educational content, updates, and general engagement. Please note that direct messaging through social media is not a secure form of communication and should not be used for discussing private information, scheduling, or clinical matters.

 

ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION

I cannot ensure the confidentiality of any form of communication through electronic media, including text messages. If you prefer to communicate via email or text messaging for issues regarding scheduling or cancellations, I will do so. While I may try to return messages in a timely manner, I cannot guarantee immediate response and request that you  use the secure messaging through the client portal to discuss any personal information or treatment plans. There are potential risks, consequences, and benefits of video conferencing. Potential benefits include, but are not limited to improved communication capabilities, providing convenient access to up-to-date information, consultations, support, and improved quality.

 

CONFIDENTIALITY

You retain the option to withhold or withdraw consent at any time without affecting the right to future care or treatment. All existing confidentiality protections are equally applicable. The consent document allows you to declare your preference on using images of the treatment area(s) for educational and marketing purposes. Dissemination of any of your identifiable images or information from professional interactions shall not occur without your consent.

 

MINORS

If you are a minor, your parents may be legally entitled to some information about your treatment. I will discuss with you and your parents what information is appropriate for them to receive and which issues are more appropriately kept confidential.

 

TERMINATION

You have the right to end our professional relationship at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. Likewise, I reserve the right to discontinue services at any time. If I determine that services are no longer beneficial, are being misused, or if payment obligations are not met, I may end our working relationship. While not required, I will make every effort to discuss the reason for ending services and offer appropriate referrals if needed. If you do not attend scheduled appointments for three consecutive appointments and no prior arrangements have been made, I will assume you have chosen to discontinue services, and our professional relationship will be considered ended.
